James Coughlan is a professional photographer with close to 30 years experience. He always loved photography, but started taking it seriously while in University, working on his B.A. After graduation, he decided the attend community college and get a degree in photography. Ten years after graduating, he returned to college to do a post-graduate course in digital imaging.

At the start of his career, James concentrated mostly on portrait and wedding photography. While that remains his strength, during the past few years, James has concentrated his energy on more artistic, rather than commercial work. He also managed a photo counter for a local branch of a large, Canadian company, and is the show photographer for the Fanaticcon events in Ottawa, Ontario, and Brockville, On.

James has also enjoyed volunteering his talents and services for local groups. For a few years, he was the photographer for the Almonte CeltFest, and had helped out local groups protesting against the Russian invasion of Ukraine by documenting some of their protests for free.
